Ahmed Salvador

HOME AND OTHER STATIONS

Printed utilizing an obscure, wet process color photography printing method, RA-4 reversal, Ahmed’s images are of structures in an ecstatic landscape. The environment these houses are in is created with custom-made film positives: chemigrams, which are made without a camera, just photo chemicals and exposure to light. The film is projected onto miniatures directly placed on color photo paper, like a photogram. Lastly, the reversal process allows the film and the miniatures to be printed as positive images, not negatives. Light shines through them, with degrees of both menace and revelation.
